A retail source close to NowGamer has confirmed that the rumoured SKU will be available in the UK from next week
Following not-particularly-hot on the heels of the new PS3 Slim, the 250GB console arrives amid news of Microsoft's new 'Super Elite' Xbox 360 bundles, set to appear in conjunction with Forza 3 next month.

It seems the battle for the heavyweight games machines has begun, although you'd need to download quite a few PSN/XBL games to fill up 250GB. Is the increased storage an indicator of how much data future titles are set to install, or maybe the size of upcoming downloads? We're not sure, but what we do know is the new 250GB PS3 will cost £300 when it hits retailers…
