David Cage intimates that Sony motion controller compatibility could well make an appearance in Heavy Rain from day one...

Speaking exclusively to NowGamer, Quantic Dream's David Cage has confessed to the possibility of Heavy Rain taking full advantage of Sony's forthcoming motion control technology. A move that would apparently not be a considerable amount of additional work.

"We have a lot of interest in the motion controller," he confessed. "We’ve got prototypes and we’ve had a chance to play with them and I think it’s a very interesting direction. The interface of Heavy Rain is already a lot based on movement. You use the sticks to make a move and when you open a cupboard or open a door, you really do the action with them. Doing this with the motion controller would be very natural and wouldn’t require a big change in the game."

Following which, if there is a cat in the bag, his next comments came as close to its release as it's possible to come. "We feel really close to this already with the game as it is. Who knows, maybe we’ll think about a motion controller version."

And now for the punditry. We feel that his statement points to the age old 'it's in development, but we're not talking about it yet'. We will, however, as always, let you make your own minds up. The full transcription of this interview will be available for perusal later today.
